By 2025, experts predict that certain communities will emerge as the most affordable havens for housing, albeit with a caveat: the journey to this affordability may be fraught with challenges, particularly in the realm of insulation and energy efficiency.

The Fotocasa Real Estate Index reveals a staggering 14.7% increase in the national average rent compared to the previous year, with the average price per square meter now hovering around €13.13. To put this into perspective, a modest 80-square-meter apartment will set you back approximately €1,050 per month as of November 2023. This marks the highest year-on-year growth in rental prices since 2018, a trend that has not gone unnoticed across the autonomous communities of Spain.

Indeed, the data indicates that 16 out of 17 autonomous communities have experienced a rise in rental prices, with some regions witnessing increases nearing or exceeding 20%. The ranking of these communities is as follows:
